Overview

Sixteen taxels in a patch smaller than a postage stamp, each reading three axes — shear in X and Y as well as normal force in Z. Shear is the channel that tells a policy an object is slipping before it has slipped.

  • 3-axis sensing per taxel: X/Y shear and Z normal force
  • 500 Hz maximum sampling rate
  • Up to 1,500 gf normal force per point, 3,000 gf overload tolerance
  • 0.1 gram-force resolution
  • CAN bus with daisy-chain wiring, single CAN2USB link to the host
  • Windows and Linux support with ROS and ROS 2 drivers
